I’m a word nerd, a coffee addict, and a dog and cat mom. I’m equal parts dreamer and doer. At heart, I’m a seeker and storyteller. I adore being outside, but when I’m in the office, here’s what I’m up to:

As a freelance journalist, I specialize in travel, art and culture, and wellness. I have penned articles for Outside (online), Paste.com, Fodors.com, Beyond, and New Mexico Magazine, among others. I also contribute to Bindu, a new itinerary-based website. As the several-times author of the New Mexico True Adventure Guide and 100 Things to Do in Albuquerque Before You Die, I’m an expert on my home state’s marquee and off-the-beaten-path destinations.

In the editing realm, I oversee GuestLife New Mexico and GuestLife El Paso. I also act as lead editor for the forthcoming Southwest Adventure Series from University of New Mexico. My book, Eco-Travel New Mexico, will be the first in the series; it’s slated for release in 2017.

I completed my undergraduate degree in communication studies at the University of Puget Sound, and earned my master’s degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
